It's nice to be here For a change I do not get the usual "who the f**k are these bands?" whenever I mention my favourite musicians. The new Modest Mouse album is awesome, although it did get mixed reviews, I believe it to be their best work yet. Strangelove were a great band. I have all (three) of their albums and 'Love and Other Demons' is by far their best work. Pity they quit the music scene.

If anyone hasn't heard team sleep yet download their album NOW! NOW! NOW!
it's one of the most spine chillingly great albums of the decade ... and it hasn't been released since it got leaked on the internet .. might as well go on and download it. Tracks, like ligeia, natalie portman, king diamond, boulevard nights... whoa...
it is essential believe me and bob - i have no idea how you haven't come across it yet...

It's Chino Moreno's Side project- i've heard of them but I haven't heard them (a big problem of mine) sometimes I can only champion a group if i've heard at least four songs (singles are a different matter) But Im happy that we're spreading groups through word of mouth- keep it up!

Hatful of Hollow better than The Queen Is Dead?...mmmmmm sewwa jghidu l-baqra tinbiegh kollha.
Queen Is Dead & (gulp) Strangeways Here We Come are the best Smiths albums as far as I'm concerned.
I want to hear something by The Subverts - Can anyone help me with that. Jean..where is Jean? HEEEEEELP!!!!
Right now I'm listening to Libertango by Astor Piazzola. Fuck. I LOVE tango. Wish I knew how to wiggle my arse to it. Piazzola is a legend. Whenever you lads feel like giving guitar driven combos a break listen to this Argentinian wizard. Pure genius. Pam Pam Pam Pa.....Pararara..Pam Pam Pam Pam.

Piazzola, Buena Vista Social Club, Les Negresses Vertes, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Arto Lindsay - these are (some) great alternatives for when you've absorbed enough agro for the day.
I'd also love to get my hands on sometbing from Mercan Dede from the World Music Fest.

woha!!
Beta is going for the Eric Montford/Bob Pisani musicdom guru crown.
I'll be lobbying in your favour Gig.
Yeah I like The Buena Vista Social Club too. What they made of ageing is infinitely comforting to my aspiring Dorian Gray. There's still a chance I might be cool at 70's.

Arto Lindsay dabbled in Tango? ?? the former DNA (and producer for Laurie Anderson) frontman? that's something new.

Hatful of Hollow better than The Queen Is Dead?...mmmmmm sewwa jghidu l-baqra tinbiegh kollha. To each his own! That anyone should prefer The Bends (a great album) over Ok Computer (a perfect album) for me is inconceivable. But this all boils down to personal preference.
