I agree ... and Silent Alarm is very tough to follow up or improve. It was almost flawless.

I'm in late for this one , but yeah Babybird (Stephen Jones) is one of my favourite artists till this very day. As Duff said he's got the 'you're gorgeous' tag hanging round his neck for life now but in truth he's a very versatile creative artist/songwriter.To be fair his best moment remains 'Ugly Beautiful,' (its the album with 'gorgeous') but the following album'there's something going on' was also very good. He's done ambient/short instrumental albums since. Also released one song orientated album by his name instead of Babybird. He's come back as Babybird just recently but its a disapointing album really. Songwriters block galore. The guy remains a huge talent tho and sadly despite the success of 'you're gorgeous' today he's a struggling musician. Thats the music biz for yas. Ugly Beautiful is such an eclectic eccentic piece of work tho, brilliant stuff, one must have it.

Well Kanye West were also the inspirations behind the album. Is there an hip hop influence? It's the brash self importance and pretentiousness present in the songs. But it's used as a paradox.
