thanks jeremy ... i'll check them out hey kros. if u like arctic monkeys u probably like milburn? theyre really gd. coincidentally they grew up near the arcitc monkeys in sheffield and the knew them before all the hype. milburn arent as gd as monkeys but theyre worth a listen

Saw them a couple of weeks ago, and that just explained why they haven't made it quite as big.....

so does Monkey Swallows the Universe. their debut The Bright Carvings is a mini indiepop/twee masterpiece. Incidentally the guy that produced them, alan smyth also did the arctic monkeys demos

yep - i like.
re sheffield it was one of the birthplaces of synth pop and the electronica tradition continued with the warp label setting up it's headquarters there.
more connections.....
warp then hired an art student who was a sheffield native to direct some videos.
his name was jarvis cocker, who was in pulp.
babybird is also from sheffield.

yes - Actually he's very consistent as well. He has written better songs but is ultimately known for you're gorgeous.

managed to listen to Bloc Party's latest. Not much impressed following first listen. "waiting for the 7.18" and "uniform" - i thought they were best...
