ok for once the hype is justified. absolutely fabulous. Their Sun Giant EP is just as amazing - hasn't come out of my car for the past couple of weeks... album is certainly a little gem that forces you to catch your breath when you hear it, akin to Midlake's Van Occupanther.

i first heard about the band on the wild mercury sound blog and then the sun giant ep cemented everything.

To be fair I've only listenened to the album twice...but they sounded so Neil Young to me that at that point i thought...might as well listen to neil young

There's a fleet foxes interview on pitchfork. This bit caught my eye
I definitely love the Northwest. I love living there. The Northwest bands that I really love are Beat Happening and Modest Mouse. That was very important to me growing up. At the time I was definitely proud to be from the Northwest, but I don't know what it means to be from a town anymore, musically at least. I don't know what an L.A. band sounds like anymore versus what a Williamsburg band sounds like.
