I love piano magic! they really are essential! I used to have only 'Disaffected' - my favourite song in it is 'Theory of Ghosts' but now I also have 'The Troubled Sleep of Piano Magic' - From the first listen I immediatly realised that it will be no. 1 in my playlist for a long, long time (like 'Disaffected' had been last year) - I think I already have a favourite song from this album: 'Luxembourg Gardens' - but obviously it might change through time. On the 28th March 2006 they will be releasing an EP: 'Incurable' - www.ear-rational.com/detail.php?id=22522Finally something to look forward to!!! (even though I still don't have the rest of their albums...)

Ostra how great to see people here loving this band.
To me seeing those Italian polls above really was of some consolation cause every album I get by Piano Magic I think wow this is one of the albums of the year . Sadly though since Low Birth Weight their 1999 album (which is a gem btw , get this one Sati) they haven't been crtically acclaimed enough to make these polls. On one hand it doesn't bother me cause most of the albums ended on the 'best of the year' polls are forgotten in a few seconds but on the other hand its always cool to see a band you love getting the respect they deserve. Sati the two albums you have are Piano Magic settling down as a band. Before it was Glenn Johnson with various guest musicans now he has a band , all french guys and very young. Thats why perhaps the last two albums were the most coherent. Having said that all their other albums have some amazing songs on them.
They remain the best band I've ever seen live. I was with two other friends and we must have got them on one of their magical nights. We saw them in this chapel like venue and were in the third row and they literally left us transfixed for 2 hrs. They were loud but the sound was crystal clear , it was totally mind blowing.

You reminded me of paul's and my distress last summer, when we were in Naples, Italy, along with the other volunteers, and came by a billboard advertising 'Neapolis Rock Festival' which had taken place just a few days before we arrived! Amongst the great names written were: Nick Cave, Piano Magic and Tori Amos! All we could do was stare at the billboard and say: Iz zooobb! Tiftakar pawl? The first time I listened to Piano Magic (disaffected) was when paul (obviously ) gave me a wonderful compilation full of bands which I had never heard of and had never listened to - when I told him how much I liked piano magic he just smiled and said 'I knew you'd like them' RE 'Low Birth Weight' and the rest of their albums... I'm finding it extremely difficult to find them - hmmm... maybe I should obtain them the normal way...

no need to build a new one - I'd give them the BIG ONE (you know which one i mean) cause if they manage to do it, it would mean that they have enormous balls, and they would match perfectly with the monument!

You got me a million memories back Sati! Of course Piano Magic are one of those magic bands Jean/Gaggu got me into. I really love their stuff. Getting them to Malta would be a pleasure and i would never say never! It would be "The BIG Magic" in that case! Any live dvds of them Jean?
