Has someone ever thought of producing a Maltese Artists mixed cd ??
The type of NOW 48 etc
I think it would be a good idea to promote the talent there in Malta.

there were definately 2 compilations back in 1995-97 when i still wasnt into all this but they triggered some interest in the local scene in me. i think they were sold from the record shop/rock shop in old theatre street - cant remember the name of the shop or the records...used to follow UK charts music so passionately back then!

name of that shop was 'The Rock Shop' ... if I remember well the owner was Mark Storm. I own one of those 2 compilations ... it featured a band called 'Nightwing' which I have'nt heard about since then ... they looked quite promising.

I think Bob means the Muddy Waters compilation called Home Made Jams... I remember it had probably the first ever recorded Beangrowers track : Elephant ? or something...

i (fridaypm) took part in a compilation cd once, called 'arch music.com', with bands such as, 'weeping silence', 'malefactors', 'obligue visions', 'gruesome funeral', 'nevawhere', 'xtro', 'pejxa' and of course 'fridaypm'.
betabean, you may know about this.
at the time i thought it was a great idea, but when i found out what the other bands were all about, i cringed!!! what the hell .....

Local music compilations that i know of are:
The Storm has Begun:
feat. (among others) Norm Rejection's Trance Upon the Chessboard, Beheaded's Vai Victus (or something), Forsaken's Moon Dancer and other tracks by such bands as amentia, masada, orbus vitae
Eruption
Somebody mentioned it here. It's the one that has the Nightwing track on it.
The Core of Creation
Feat the only Victims of Creation track available: Lotions and Potions, a different version of Norm Rejection's Where's the Green? and songs by other bands like Sceptocrypt and No Name Yet
Illusions
Feat. bands like dreamscape, Brainstorm, Purple Haze, Wildflower, Wex, Juicy Affair and Jain Air
Arch Music Comp
Mentioned by Friday PM dude.
Broadband Gathering and Festahwid Compilations
Featuring live music from the Festahwid festivals, mostly punk. Worth mentioning is one of the volumes that features the cool track by The Vegetables called 'hu dan il-maktur kollu mahta'.
Alternative Malta Comp.
Have a feeling that you all know about this.
Home made Jams
Featuring Filletti and Friends, Beangrowers and Craze amongst others.
Anyways dawk li naf bihom jien...
