Broken Social Scene are the best new band I've heard in the past 2 years or so. Its their versatility that makes them so special. I started with their latest album (feel good lost) and thought of them being another welcome addition to a list of bands making great atmospheric instrumental music. I was really in for a shock when I heard their debut album ' you forget it in people,' I was expecting another instru based album but instead this one is based on songs and very good ones as well. The way these guys can sound like New Order on a track , Sonic Youth on another , Dinasaur Jr on another etc etc is quite impressive. Damn there are some splendid tracks on this album. Their outakes album cleverly titled 'Beehives.' (prob just beating 'besides yourself' for witty outtake album titles !) is hardly inferior to to the other.
great great stuff great band

I agree with you fully Jean. Canada is finally making an impcat again. However Feel good lost is the debut and you forgot .......... is the latest. I dont know why but lovers spit reminds me of travis with a jazz ending.
