hi, all! saw both these bands live a couple of summers ago and recently reacquainted myself with them a couple of weeks ago. they're just starting to raise a bit of a buzz in the states on college radio... controller.controller [toronto, ontario] www.controllercontroller.com/and the organ [vancouver, british columbia] www.theorgan.cacontroller.controller are more in the vein of the recent 'dark disco' music thing that's been happening over the past couple of years [the rapture/blondie-esque/blah blah blah] while the organ are very much an homage to the smiths and joy division [an all-female ensemble]... you can probably hear some controller.controller at their website, as for the organ, i have made an mp3 available at this link [though only temporarily] if you're interested: s90456269.onlinehome.us/Organ,%20the%20-%20grab%20that%20gun%2009%20-%20No%20One%20Has%20Ever%20Looked%20So%20Dead.MP3 let me know what you think! ssg.x.

I quite liked The organ- unfortunately Controller Controller's website didn't have any soundclips- could you post a few?
what did you think of elefant? (since response was quite poor)

i've heard a couple of elefant-related tracks [one was amazing...wish i could remember what it was called...] and i think i might have to pick up the album to give it a thorough listening to. i'm sorry i'm replying to your post so late!!! but at any rate, i'll post some more organ stuff tonight after work as well as some controller.controller and possibly some tangiers, too. i'm in a 'local' state of mind. you know, as oppose to a new york one. by the way...my boss ended up making me stay late at work the night clinic was playing so i DIDN'T GET TO GO. i may have to call employment rights about this. ssg.x.

One great Canadian really really unsung band are DESTROYER (yes they sound like a heavy metal band but they are actually alt country/folk). Dan Bejar also released a solo project I recall.
I think they are very interesting.
Sidewalk? Ever heard of them?

Hey Bob, Controller.controller website does have three tracks and a video for download. I guess you missed them. It's some upbeat stuff and female vocals (again). Quite intriguing .... Also check out their artist at www.dustandmold.net/ if you're in for design stuff as myself. As with The Organ ... cute track. Thanks sidewalksg

well I reviewed The Organ- you can read it as it's up now. I think the Organ have a lot more to offer but they keep on holding back. I have faith in them
