I think you're asking the wrong crowd here rizzo. To be fair I heard the single on the radio and thought it was quite good actually.

people who are in that genre said it's marvellous and compared them to current U2.

winter moods suck cocks in hell
current U2 sound like shit
I could choose to be democratic but how can i ever respect a band that endorses mc donalds and urges its audience to drive safely home after gigs
bunch of sissies

brikkun: why do you have to be offensive?.....you don't like them fine but why add insults? I agree endorsing bigmacs is questionable but of course it has nothing to do with their music. About driving safely.......what the hell is wrong with that?........somehow I don't think you belong to the crowd that drives like nuts with 2million watts of speakers blaring out a bass drum groove. Insulting all genres of music except what you like is very "fundamentalist" . I wonder what YOU would have done if Burgerking had offered you a fat sponshorship deal in your Lumiere days.

simple
i would have refused. Right there and then. (Not even the slightest of doubts and you must be kidding yourself if you think otherwise)
I don't know about you but I have choked long enough on this democratic bullshit. I can't stand it when someone doesn't express what he truly feels about something. I didn't write in the paper or go on tv to shove my opinion down people's throat. I wrote it in a public supposedly devoted to 'underground music' therefore it should be more than fitting. I add insults cause I expect people in 2006 to be able to handle it. If not, its their problem not mine. People have all the liberty and right to return the insult.
I love late 80's and early 90's U2 for example....but why should i have a problem admitting that they have been churning crap for the last 8 years now? Will someone lose any sleep at night? By the very same democracy we promote I should have the freedom to call a spade a spade and I fundamentally believe Winter Moods are crap. Both in attitude and songwriting.

ok...your refusal would be commendable.
I agree with your opinion about U2 and actually I personally don't like Winter Moods at all.
but what does democracy have to do with it? noeone here ( or anywhere else ) is denying your right to express an opinion...does adding insults add force to an argument?.....it might add colour but intellectually it's a cul-de -sac.
What is really interesting in your post is the reference to 2006 and being able to take insults. Believe me I can swear and hurl insults just as strongly as anyone else.....does that take us to a higher level of discussion?......the natural evolution of such an attitude is to escalate and eventually we shall discuss different opinions with clubs and machetes.......absurd.....
I hope you have never suffered a personal tragedy, but if someday you do, your sarcasm about families, driving, etc might prove mighty bitter and empty.

Yes Pedulla. Insults add a bit of color sometimes. And I'm very much interested in color. As long as I make a point that is. Its pointless insults that would bother me.
Re personal tragedy: I think everyone has at some point lost or knew someone who lost his life through such accidents. But I (I am not speaking for everyone obviously) firmly believe that in spite of such occurances there is no need to be sanctimonious about these tragedies. What bothers me pedulla is that in most cases, such statements are spurted out only to suck up to an audience in order to fall for their product (or album or whatever) I think the goody two shoes streak is in not authentic (in 99% of the case) I would rather listen to a flawed but honest person rather than goody two shoes. (this is beside the music obviously)
then there is the issue of music. Bands like Winter Moods ended up (unintentionally) dictating what other local bands should sound like and what gets and does not get played on national radio. Which is quite annoying really.
Hope I satisfied your parameters for a debate :-)
(I am not pissed off or anything ta. Actually enjoying debating this thing with you)

whats with the holier than thou attitude though??
the shins lent their song to a mcdo advert, white stripes penned a coke song... erm, modest mouse endorsed beer
isaac broke ...“People who don’t have to make their living playing music can bitch about my principles while they spend their parents’ money or wash dishes for some asshole."
i say you should peacefully eat your untainted 7cents pastizzi and let winter moods or whoever advertise mcdo.

the shins
white stripes
and modest mouse
can all suck my dick for all i care. (although.....at least...they managed to make great music which is somekind of comfort)
I never spent my parents' money. Even when I was on a shitty stipend back in my teens.
Holier than though? Refusing to be a sucker perhaps? Insomma what I am trying to say eloquently in a nutshell is that you too G...can suck my dick.
