Just got this one today.
I was wondering whether I missed out on any treads concerning the cd for I haven't seen any on this site thus far.
What do you guys think about it?
I think it has some of their finest songs on it (Quaint Affair, Untitled Forever) and I especially dig the keys. They feature more prominently than in their previous releases and contribute to a slightly different sounding Beangrowers album.
I am not sure I prefer 'Not In a Million Lovers' over it's predecessor but it's nonetheless a very solid release.

I think the first 8-9 songs make for a very good album overall. Although the predecessor had some stand-out tracks of it's own, there seems to be a freshness and variety that in my opinion was lacking before.
In my opinion the last 3 tracks lack the punch of the previous songs and are the sort of "album-fillers". Other than that well done Beanies on another great record.
Fav Tracks: "Quaint Affair", "Untitled Forever", "Ours Is A Small Flat", "Available"

Christ things have gone quite around here. Two years ago a new Beangrowers album would have had a long healthy thread. Today nearly zilch.
Anyway, I have to say that I am enjoying this new album allot. As Brikkun said, the keyboard work here is quite something. There is a good deal of excellent song writing here and everything has been expertly finished.
Christ we have come a long way since 2 years ago... (but where has the scene gone?)

Ours is a small flat is definitely my fave track and Like Ken has a nice bounce to it.
Ultimately it is a warmer album.

Agree on "ours is a small flat" bobster ... Alison's voice is simply sublime on that track. It's different from conventional beanies stuff, yet manages to work in an effort-less way.
Only track that in my opinion, is not up to the album's high standard is "love can do you harm." The guitar, especially during the chorus on that track makes me cringe to no end ;D

I'm absolutely loving the new Beanies album ... A very big well done to all those that were involved in this production.
I agree that Quaint Affairand Untitled Forever are amongst the best songs on the album.
