Yes indeed! LOLOK. So let me first make a disclaimer. I am very bad at obtaining albums upon release so there are many many albums that I’m sure would make this list, had it been for the fact that I haven’t heard them. Examples include The Editors (since I liked the tracks I’ve heard) and haven’t heard the following : devendra Banhart’s Cripple Crow, Okkervil River’s Black Sheep Boy, Franz Ferdinand, Ryan Adams’ Cold Roses, Jens Lekman, Damien Jurado’s new one etc. etc. etc.
So here goes my list (in STRICT order number 1 being the best):
1. Antony and the Johnsons - I am a Bird now
2. Thomas Dybdahl – Stray Dogs
3. Arcade Fire – Funeral (possibly 2004)
4. Kings of Leon – Aha Shake Heartbreak
5. Brakes – Give Blood
6. Treeears – Treeears
7. Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
8. Justin Rutledge – No never alone (possibly 2004)
9. Lorna – Static Patterns and Souvenirs
10. Drowsy - Growing Green
11. Patrick Duff – Luxury Problems
12. Cocorosie – Noah’s Ark
I’m quite surprised that many left out Kings of Leon and Brakes from your final lists.. I checked and they are 2005….
